Mailer has gotten under my skin more than a few times for his political views, not to mention his arroagance. I don't like most of his work, but he deserves respect for The Fight, his account of the Rumble in the Jungle. It was the 1974 heavyweight title fight between Foreman and Ali in Zaire.
